A tourist was awarded £3900 in compensation by an airline following injuries sustained when returning from an overseas holiday. The claimant had warned the operator in advance that she had difficulties walking and had requested assistance on boarding and disembarking the aeroplane. Flight operator Ryanair have been forced to pay out compensation to an inured traveller following a court case. The company, who deny any blame for the incident, paid 33 year old Ronald Furlong, £28k, following a cup of boiling tea being spilled on Mr Furlong’s lap when passing the tea to another passenger. A mother-of-three is taking legal action against the bus company Arriva after injuries left her housebound. 47-year-old Anne-Marie Lee boarded an Arriva bus on 25 February when it suddenly jolted before she was able to sit down. She suffered a serious fall which left her with life-changing injuries. Nine track workers were very nearly hit by an passenger train going 80mph last month, accident investigators have reported. The rail workers had been operating on a small bridge that required repairs on the West Coast main line near Hest Bank when they were nearly hit by the train on the 22nd of September. The workers received no advance warning that a train was approaching, which could have cost them their lives. Families launch legal battle after their children are injured in bus crash

A recent investigation has made some worrying findings regarding staff and passenger safety at Cambridge International Airport. The BBC investigation gathered evidence from leaked emails and two whistleblowers, which both highlighted major concerns about the condition of the airport’s equipment and the state of the runway. Furthering this, findings also revealed that air traffic controllers were working excessive hours and that under-qualified staff were being used due to staff shortages.
